Answered by Honest John. Yes is will have DPF. It would need one for EU4, never mind EU5. Avoid repeated short runs from cold starts. Be aware that the DPF will actively regenerate every 250 miles or so and this will probably happen while you are on the motorway. Use only the best diesel. Check the engine oil regularly for a rise in level.

I have a Kia Sportage AWD 2016 CRDi2.0 Diesel with 75K km and 1 month ago I encounter for the first time the DPF warning. From the first time I have taken it to KIA Service center and as per them they have regenerate it from their side. After 2-3 days the warning came back on.

There are several ways to detect ongoing DPF regen: - Increased fuel consumption shown in the gauge. - Fuel consumption does not drop to zero during engine braking.
