I'd suggest a non-turbo Toyota or a Nissan. They may be "boring" vehicles, but they will likely be more reliable long-term than a rather technically-complex 1.4 TSI VW. If you want a VW, buy one with a diesel engine and a manual gearbox. I had a drive yesterday in a friends Tiguan 2.0 TDI.
The new engine—which we have sampled extensively in Europe—is so good that it will make life hard for VW’s 1.8-liter TSI, which makes 170 horsepower but whose torque figure, at 184 lb-ft, is
1.4-litre petrol engine is more refined still than the already hushed diesel equivalent The VW is a decent, worthy competitor but there are better cars in the class. Volkswagen Passat 1.4 TSI
The only possible catch behind the VW is the 1.4-litre TSI engine’s long term durability and reliability. Although it’s great to drive and offers boatloads of torque, all of the Japanese models have larger, naturally aspirated four-cylinder engines ranging between 1.8 to 2.0 litres, and a more simplistic design may come out ahead while
Heavy localisation of the new 1.0-litre TSI engine has driven costs down to some extent and, as a result, the price of the base Vento 1.0TSI with a 6-speed manual isn’t wildly expensive.
The Smart II has improved 3 cylinder engines with a capacity of 999 cm³, 61/71 HP without supercharging and 84, 98 and 102 HP with turbo. Faults related to the refrigeration system or the EGR valve are most frequently reported. Installed on: Smart I; Smart II; 5. 1.0 MPI / TSI (VW group)
Volkswagen VW CAXA 1.4 Engine Published by Engineer on 08/02/2023 08/02/2023 Volkswagen’s 1.4-liter CAXA TSI engine was a technological tour de force, powering their vehicles from 2006 to 2016 and becoming one of the most widely used engines in its generation. Powering the test unit is the now rather aged 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine that produces 110kW and 250Nm of torque. The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox that is superior to the older seven-speed dual-clutch unit in low-speed driving scenarios, feeling less hesitant while also providing reasonable quick shifts. With a: Manual box. Options: multifunction steering wheel, fogs, 18" alloys; DAB; XDS activated, DRLs reset, lock beep activated; indicator repeat set to 4; covered cup holder, rear seat 12v socket installed. metal pedals, 210 Golf GTi also in the stable. Scirocco gone - miss it. Polo GTI now.

The current Mk.VII's 150 PS/HP engine comes with a turbo only for that reason. The 1.4 seems to be over its limit with more than this, while the EA888 3G comes with 310 PS/HP in the Audi TTS. Drive a 1.4 TSI and a 1.8 TSI and you will love the 1.8 TSI. Yes, you will. It's smoother, quieter, most probably more reliable and even more powerful.
2019 Volkswagen Golf 110 TSI Comfortline review it eventuated in me walking out of the Volkswagen dealership with a near-as-new Golf (72km on it). engine choice now comprises of a 1.4
Reliability 5 out of 5 stars Value 5 out of 5 stars. Report Abuse. Coming from a VW diesel I'm impressed with the 1.4L engine's torque and especially the mileage. I averaged 47 mpg driving

The 1.0 EcoBoost engines are reliable. Can you provide the real mpg figure for a 2008 1.4 Volkswagen Golf and Golf Plus TSI SE DSG 5-door. The figures on the list

Im driving the 1.5 TSI in a VW T-roc. Generaly a smooth engine with enough power 99% of the time. Pushing past 2500rpm always gives plenty amount of pulling force, not mindblowing but never had the feeling i would require more. One downside on this engine is that a cold engine affects low rpm performance more than i would like. gctDpFC.
